The members of Finger Eleven grew up in Burlington, Ontario and first came together as a funk-styled band named (get this) Rainbow Butt Monkey.

Today, sporting an arguably better name, they’re considered a Canadian alternative rock band, and are best known for the songs “One Thing” and the song we’re watching here called “Paralyzer”. If you like the sound, the band’s latest single “Falling On” can be downloaded from Imeem.

Now for the cool. - The band recently released a recording of the John Lennon song “Look At Me” as part of Instant Karma: The Amnesty International Campaign to Save Darfur.

Sixx: A.M. is a rock band formed by Nikki Sixx, the bassist and founder of heavy the metal band Motley Crue. The track Life is Beautiful comes from the band’s 2007 debut album entitled The Heroin Diaries which is based on Sixx’s book by the same name.  It's a diary of his walk on the wild side and subsequent climb back to life.

Here comes the cool part. -- 25% of the profits from sales of the book are being donated to ‘Running Wild In The Night’, a charity initiative for abused and abandoned children.
